The Promised Theology - As It Is in Heaven

The Promised Theology

What theology does Shincheonji teach? Where did it come from? How is it different from other churches? Let’s learn more about the theology of Shincheonji, who established it, and what it proclaims.

Bible Only

Shincheonji only teaches the Bible. Nothing else. There are no commentaries discussed, no personal opinions given, no feelings or emotions about how the Word is speaking to us for that day; just the Bible.

God’s word is flawless (Psalms 18:30), therefore it needs nothing added by people in order to help us understand. In fact, God prophesies throughout the Bible using figurative language so that people wouldn’t understand on purpose. Why on earth would He do that? To hide His plan for the redemption of His creation from the enemy, Satan. In a war, does a general announce his plan of attack to his enemies? Does he tell his enemy where he plans to go or how he plans to fight? Of course not.

How God Works

God has worked in the same way. He hid his plans in parables and figurative language so that Satan and those he was working through would not understand. You can think of the parables as being sealed shut (Isaiah 29:11-12). No one understands them, and no one should. That was God’s intention.

However, at an appointed time, God promised to open that word to reveal the true meaning. Psalms 119:130 says, “The unfolding of your word gives light; it gives understanding to the simple”. Therefore, when God opens His Word, when He reveals the meaning, it is the time of light and understanding.

Jesus also spoke in figurative language and parables. And once again, this was done on purpose – to hide the secrets of the kingdom of heaven from the enemy. All four gospels are filled with parables that even the disciples couldn’t understand until Jesus explained it to them. If you think about it, do you fully understand all of the words of Jesus?

A Parable with an Unclear Meaning

In Matthew 25 Jesus speaks of wise virgins and foolish virgins. Why are some considered to be wise and the others not? When the foolish ones go to buy more oil, why were they locked out of the wedding banquet? What about the sheep and the goats mentioned later? Why is it bad to be considered as a goat in the kingdom of heaven?

All of Jesus’ parables were meant to be sealed – unable to be understood…until an appointed time. Jesus himself promised this in John 16:25.

“Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father.”

Shincheonji’s Theology

The appointed time that Jesus spoke of is now, the time of the fulfillment of Revelation. What was once sealed has been opened and the prophecies of Revelation can now be understood. How is this possible?

This book of Revelation was a book that God sealed with seven seals and had in His right hand (Revelation 5). When Jesus, who received this book from the right hand of God, was opening the seals one by one and fulfilling the prophecies, there was a pastor who saw and heard everything that was being fulfilled – a witness. This pastor received and ate the opened book in Revelation 10. If the book is open that means it can now be understood and the pastor eating the book means that he was able to understand and digest the meaning of the prophecies and the fulfillment.

This witness is the messenger who speaks on behalf of Jesus and the promised pastor who saw the events of all the chapters of Revelation and testifies. Then it is through this pastor that one is able to see and believe that Revelation has been fulfilled.

Where Does Our Theology Come From?

So where does the teaching of Shincheonji come from? Our theology comes from Jesus himself, since he was the one who opened (revealed) the book of Revelation and gave it to the promised pastor. This teaching does not come from a person’s ideas or opinions. It is not commentary, it does not come from the world. This teaching has been given from above – the highest truth and teaching, which sets Shincheonji apart from all other churches. It focuses only on God’s will and the things of heaven, rather than things of the world.

The only theological seminary Jesus promised is the place where the pastor, who eats the book opened by Jesus (Revelation 10), and teaches the words of that book without cost according to the Bible (Revelation 21:6). Revelation 14:1-5 calls this place Mt. Zion. That is why our theology school is called Zion Christian Mission Center, where anyone can come to learn this word of fulfillment and the testimony of Jesus coming from his promised pastor for free.

An Unprecedented Event of Light

Shincheonji’s theology program continues to grow more and more every month. In 2019, to the glory of God, there were over 100,000 new graduates from Zion Christian Mission Center in an unprecedented event of light. You can watch the highlights of the graduation below. We warmly encourage you to contact us if you would like to know more or would like to get connected to our theology school. God has worked for so long to get this word to you and we’re so happy that you’ve made it here.
