lead me, God, path, salvation, Bible, God's word

“Make me know your ways, O Lord; Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.”

Psalms 25:4-5

When I read these verses, I am reminded of my own past. I thought I knew God and His word. I thought I was on God’s path to salvation, but it turned out that I was actually lost although I didn’t know it at the time.

People are Leaving the Church – But Why?

leaving the church, why, Christianity, Bible, Jesus, God

Why are so many people leaving church these days?

According to a recent Gallup poll, in 2020 less than 50% of (U.S.) adult Christians regularly attended church. Compare that to the 70% who said they attended a church in 1999. Over the recent decades, the general decline in church and religious affiliation has risen with adults under 40. What is the cause of this? Here are several reasons that can explain why.

We Talk About the Bible At Church…So Why Can’t I Understand It?

bible, church, understanding

As believers, we should consider from time to time, what’s the purpose of going to church? What’s the purpose of learning God’s word? Is it for community? Is it to understand the Bible and God more?

How I Left the Church and Still Found God

Twenty-five years.

Each one of these years was spent in the church, my second home. Generations of family, the best of friends, conferences, events, memories to last a lifetime, but then, it all changed. There was a voice inside of me that I had quieted over the years…and it became louder and louder, like she could no longer stay silent. I found myself feeling empty, not learning anything, like my eyes were opened to a church that I didn’t even recognize.

Would You Now Return to Me?

return, God, calling back, love

I still remember my first-time reading Jeremiah 2-3.

“I myself said,” ‘How gladly would I treat you like sons and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation.’ I thought you would call me ‘Father’ and not turn away from following me. But like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you have been unfaithful to me, O house of Israel,” declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 3:19-20

The Promised Temple

When Jesus first came to this earth, he spoke about the kingdom of heaven. He used many parables to explain how to get to this kingdom of heaven, what it would be like there, who could enter, as well as who will be left out. Have you been able to figure out how to enter the kingdom of heaven from reading Jesus’ parables? Where it will be? How do you get there? What do you have to do before entering?
